Family-Friendly Tours of Berlin

Private tours for curious families, led by a former teacher who genuinely loves explaining Berlin’s history to kids.

Tours that work for the whole family

Before becoming an architect and then tour guide, I spent years teaching performing arts to children aged 4 to 16. I know how to keep kids engaged, and how to make complicated history feel exciting rather than overwhelming.

These tours are designed so that children and adults experience Berlin together. Every tour is private, so I tailor the stories, activities, and pace to your family on the day. Whether you’re 8 or 80, I try to make my tours as fun and engaging as possible!

Who is this tour for, and what’s it like?

These tours are designed for families who want to explore Berlin together. Whether your children are 4 or 14, the pace, stories, and activities adjust to them, not the other way around.

I spent years teaching performing arts to children before becoming a guide, so I know how to keep kids genuinely engaged rather than just tolerating the tour. Expect plenty of questions, and moments where the kids are more interested than the adults. And if someone needs a snack break, a rest, or a moment to regroup, that’s completely fine. We go at your family’s pace. That means no rushing, no strangers, no one-size-fits-all commentary.

This is ideal for:

  • Families visiting Berlin for the first time
  • Parents who want their children to actually understand what they’re seeing
  • Mixed-age groups including grandparents
  • Families who’ve tried group tours and found them too slow, too fast, or too adult-focused

Probably not the right fit for:

  • Children under 7 for the Treasure Hunt (there is a bit of reading involved!)
  • Families looking for a fully self-guided experience
