Tour Description
Join me (Natalie), a passionate local guide offering both English and French tours, around my beloved Berlin. This tour is perfect for those on their first visit to the city and will provide an overview of Berlin’s history and attractions, as well as my personal recommendations for places to eat, shop and explore.
During this tour you’ll learn about Berlin’s complicated history and visit some must-see sites. I’ll take you to some important locations relating to WWII and the rise of the Nazis, including the Reichstag – the seat of the German Parliament, and the Topography of Terror – where the Gestapo and SS headquarters once stood, now a museum about Nazi crimes. We’ll also visit the Holocaust memorial and reflect on the atrocities of WWII.
As we wander through the city, I’ll share the story behind the name for Checkpoint Charlie and show you how Berlin’s urban landscape has changed since the fall of the Berlin Wall. We’ll also explore some significant spots relating to the Cold War, including Potsdamer Platz and the 17th June Memorial, where people fought for freedom during the East German uprising of 1953.
This tour can be tailored to suit your needs and interests. Want to see something not listed above? Simply get in touch!
